the symbol of Hope reigns high-
the ward against evil’s spears,
wiping away my desperate cries,
and punching through these fears
~
his only usurper – time,
comes far far nigh.
all heroes fall,
Fate awaits its demise
~
and chaos creeps steadily,
and unhindered it is –
ray of light I cannot see,
hope – what is this?
~
only I can fight this,
with embers deep down.
go – kindle your spirits,
eliminate the frown.
Hey! I hope (aha!) that you are doing well. Your poem was a great read. My mind enjoyed the language a lot. I absolutely want to KINDLE my dad gom SPIRITS now. Very powerful writing.
In particular, I really love this stanza here below. I think it ties the whole thing together in a really meaningful way:
“only I can fight this,
with embers deep down.
go – kindle your spirits,
eliminate the frown.”
You make a really important point – only “I” am the effective fighter against chaos in my life. Others can absolutely guide me in that journey, but I ultimately have to be the person who wants to do so. I am the sole person responsible for stoking passion, hope, and perseverance during times of high chaos. Its foundational, I would argue.
Thanks again for a great read,
I’ll be kindling my spirits,

This was so beautifully written. I really liked the last stanza as it left me with my own sense of hope and encouraged me to think about the ways I can utilize the embers deep within myself. In times like these I often find myself thinking negatively and not having much hope even if I know everything will eventually be okay again. This is usually easier said than done, but your poem was quiet inspiring.
