“The first time I looked at your post, I was shocked by how short it was. When I finally read it, I was shocked further how a short, 12 word Haiku could be so meaningful. I found that the last sentence, “We are the problem”, was very impactful and I couldn’t help but find myself nodding along. On this note, one of the pieces of news that put a smile on my face recently amidst all of the other news stories is the emergence of Dolphins and other animals in the Italian Waterways. 🙂 ” -Ciana Gadut

Adam, it is truly impressive how you were able to make such a short poem so profound. Climate change and the environment is already ignored as is, but is being ignored even more now that we are in a pandemic. Personally, I feel like the Earth is crying for help during this time, showing just how bad it is suffering due to things like pollution and climate change. I hope that these signs don’t go unnoticed after the pandemic eventually ends. Also, I really like your picture and I think it goes along with your poem well. Great post!

For such a short poem, that was really meaningful. It’s scary to think that it took a pandemic to show how much damage people are doing to our planet. Putting the world on pause–as unenjoyable as it is for us– has allowed the earth to breathe and take a break from humans. Your poem really shows the power that a few carefully chosen words can carry.
