Bray Fedele: Nick
Nick is a honors marine biology major from Laurel, Delaware. My first assumptions following this information went as follows: marine biology is science related and focused on marine life so he must like fish and the oceans, and he is from Laurel, which is the south so he probably likes the beach. It turned out I was mostly correct with these assumptions, but I was surprised to find out many more things about Nick I could not immediately guess from the surface. I was surprised to find out that Nick is a blacksmith in his free time and was inspired by the show called “Forged in Fire”. He really enjoys making things in a unique way and it is something he likes to dedicate his time to. He makes smaller things like hooks, which connects to his other hobby, fishing.
Being a marine biology major, Nick enjoys being near the water where he fishes with his friends and family. He commonly takes a trip to the Outer Banks to do so. He and his family have a house in the Outer Banks so it is very convenient for them to take the drive down every summer. Nick is also in the fishing club here at UD and goes on several fishing trips with his fellow members. In order to further his experience in the marine biology field, he hopes to get an internship at the park on Assateague Island this summer. Outside of fishing Nick likes to listen to music like the Foo Fighters, Blink 182, Nirvana and Johnny Cash. He mentioned that he had just switched into a scuba class this semester which I thought was so intriguing.
Caroline SanAngelo: Bray
Bray Fedele has a very positive and bright personality and is very outgoing. Bray was active in numerous activities in highschool. She cheered for her school’s team, played tennis and did gymnastics. She was also involved in several clubs including a health professions club which highlighted a future career path for her.Despite growing up in a small town in Delaware, Bray has a large adventurous spirit and loves to explore new places. She once stayed in a ranch in Montana surrounded by mountains and awoke to roaming horses. As demonstrated by her starfish earrings, Bray absolutely loves the beach, specifically walking down the jetties. She vacationed to the Caribbean in the past yet her future dream trip is to explore the lavish Santorini coast of Greece.
This past summer Bray spent a week in Deep Creek Maryland where she hiked and discovered waterfalls as one final adventure with her highschool friends. Bray was amazed when they spotted a bear approaching her cabin and will always remember these breathtaking memories. This summer she also worked at the legislative hall and experienced government life first-hand. However, her hopes and passions fall into the medical field as she is a chemistry major who one day wishes to go to medical school to possibly become an orthopedic surgeon. This passion sprouted as she had the opportunity to shadow a doctor who performed back and hand surgeries. Bray’s dream job is to one day become the surgeon of a NFL sports team and work directly with them.
Nick Whaley: Caroline
Even though I have only known Caroline for a few days, it has become evident that she is a very caring person. She is majoring in cognitive science, and in the future, she would like to spend her career working with children with special needs. She already has some experience with this, and it is evident that she is passionate about helping others. Over the past summer, she worked at a summer camp and assisted a boy with special needs. Additionally, she is in the Best Buddy Club here at UD. Through the club, she works with adults with special needs. She genuinely enjoys hanging out with them and playing games with them and just spending time with them. She is also in the Special Olympics Club here at UD. The Special Olympics is an organization that puts on sporting events for people with special needs. Caroline has a clear passion for helping those with special needs.
Furthermore, Caroline likes to travel. Her favorite place that she has visited is the Grand Canyon. She visited in the middle of summer when it was really hot out, and she went on a several mile-long hike. Despite being exhausted from walking through the summer heat, she enjoyed the scenic view that the Grand Canyon has to offer. In the future, she would like to visit Italy because she enjoys their history and culture.
